THE NATURAL DOG

Today I thought I would write about something fun and informative….natural remedies for your dogs. I love aromatherapy and natural remedies for my family and me so I thought I would research aromatherapy for dogs. We all know what anything artificial does to us humans, so you can imagine what it does to our dogs. Nothing good! I found this wonderful website called Natural Dog Health Remedies and I can’t wait to try some of these recipes. I am an absolute fan of Lavender and Geranium and there is a recipe using these oils to help with ticks. I am going to make this remedy for my dogs because they keep getting ticks even though we have used the leading tick remedy, so I’m very curious to see how well it works. Here is the recipe:

Ticks hate geranium, bay, and lavender. Here is an oil blend that can keep ticks off your dog. You need:
• 1/2 oz. (15 ml) base oil (e.g. olive oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil)
• 7 drops Lavender
• 5 drops Geranium
• 3 drops Bay Leaf
Apply a few drops of the oil blend to the neck, back, chest, legs, and tail of your dog.

This site also has natural and herbal dog treats that you can bake, and the recipes are very easy. Plus they have a ton of articles on every aspect of your animal’s health. I love the whole idea of treating my furry babies naturally. Natural Dog Health Remedies is such an informative site, just use their site search and you can find anything you want. You can also sign up for an RSS feed. Give this site a try and let me know what you think!

I also found another dog treat site called All Natural Dog Treats. They also give some great information about your dogs health, for instance, did you know that your dog should not have any grapes or raisins? It can cause kidney damage! I didn’t know that. They also have a ton of great dog treat recipes like Banana Carrot Muffin Dog Treats and Pumpkin Dog Treats. I know my dogs will gobble these up!

I am going to do more research on these subjects and apply them to my dogs well being, (yes, they will be the test subjects) and I will post the outcome! I welcome any suggestions that you may have or recipes that you’ve used!

STILL SEARCHING.....

Well, I'm still on the search for a litte Yorkie. Nina did'nt work out for us. She and my Labrador puppy kept attacking eachother. She was very posesive of her crate and would attack anyone who went near it, and for some reason she thought Jonas wanted it. It was truly unfortunate because she was the sweetest dog and so well trained. She was a dream dog for anyone, except us. Nina is back home with her mommy and I hope she can find a way to keep Nina because they were so happy to be together again. As for me, well, I'm not giving up. I know that there is a Yorkie out there for me. I am still hopeful! I'll keep you posted!

MY NEW LITTLE GIRL!

As most of you know my little Yorkie Jabot passed away last November. I have missed her so much and just missed having a Yorkie. They are such special little dogs. Well I've been looking and looking everywhere for another Yorkie to adopt, but everyone who wants to rehome a dog wants about 500.00 or higher. Yesterday I was on Craigslist looking, and being very disappointed, so I decided to place my own ad. I've seen ads that people have placed looking for animals, so I thought I'd give it a try, not expecting anything to come of it. One sweet lady answered my ad and said she had to find a new home for her Yorkie due to her current circumstances. I asked her how much she wanted to rehome her baby and to my surprise she said nothing. I couldn't believe it! Well this gal only lived 20 minutes from me, so I packed up the family and off we went. As you can see by the picture how adorable she is. And what a love bug! She is AKC registered and I got all her vet paperwork as well. You don't hear of this type of thing happening very often and I'm actually still in shock! I have to tell you the cutest thing she does. She loves her little crate and she knows how to open and close the door. You just say "Nina, go to your box" and she opens the door and enters her crate, closing the door behind her. She also loves to travel and does great in the car. We will have our first outing today to the pet store to get her a few things. I'm in heaven! It does my heart good to know that there are still people out there who want whats best for their pets and not just out for the almighty dollar. She found her baby a good home and I got a little sweetie to love. Thank your SB from the bottom of my heart! I will keep you posted with updates on her and I will post lots of pictures!

"THE ANIMAL RESCUE SITE.COM" NEEDS YOUR HELP

The Animal Rescue Site needs your help. Everytime you visit their site and click on the button to donate food, food gets donated to animal shelters and rescues all over the country for free! Well, not enough people are going to their site and they are having a hard time meeting their quota to get the free food. It will only take you 20seconds for a click and I have the button on the right side of my blog or you can click on the link in this article to go to their site. Please, if you can do this everyday it will make such a difference and ask your friends to also. Animal rescues are run by donations and they are so over crowded with animals right now that it's getting hard to feed them all. Please make a difference in these poor animals lives. Thank you so much!

SCAM POSTED AT LOCAL NEWS STATION

Today my cousin sent me this ad that was placed at our local news station for 2 free yorkie puppies. My red flags went up all over the place. I knew it was a scam, but I thought I'd play along. Sure enough, I got a letter back:

Hello
Thank you for contacting me about my Yorkie puppies that i am giving out for adoption , first i will like to tell you how happy i am that there is someone out there that is interested in providing a home for them . Let me tell you more about my self and the puppies and also why i am giving away them for free to good homes . I am a 39 years old male who got these 2 puppies by name Tina and Tiny precisely 8 weeks ago .So i have been with them for close to 2 months and i believe i know about them very well . So i am giving away these precious babies because of my Working condition here , and secondly my late wife asked me to get these puppies and i just lost her 2 weeks ago , so first i am heart broken and now there is no one to care for these puppies , then i go to work from Mondays to Saturdays and there is no one to care for them during the day , so that's why i am giving them away .

The puppies are 11 weeks old today and i have had them for 8 weeks ( 2months ), they are 2.2 and 2.01 ibs old and they will make a very good companion to you , they are Registered and vaccinated and will come along side all these documents , also they have a 1 year health warranty and guarantee . Pure breed puppies the Male named Tina And the female Tiny , they are not from the same litters , have separate parents . They will be coming with their crates , their feeding booklet , where you will read on how to care for them well .The puppies are Nudged ,Tea cups puppies , They eat 2 times daily and are adapted to that , have made a 15 days stay in quarantine and tested to be medically well and healthy and fit for adoption . They are Micro Chipped ,Hand Fed ,DNA tested and USDA Standard and on date with all shots and health papers needed . So all you will pay to have them home is the fee for their papers works and the adoption papers , along with ownership transfer .

So for delivery i am re-located here in North Western Region , Republic of Cameroon,So that's where they will be coming from,So you should have no problem nor worries in regards to that because it will takes approximately 8 hours then you have them home ok, so i am giving them out over there because the people here do not care for pets and animals, some use them as food , others for hunting , rituals and other bad activities you may think of . so i contact the pet rescue team here and they advice me not to give them here , so that's why i am giving them there . so all the money you are paying for this transaction will be the money for their paper works as i earlier told you because i already got their shipping tickets . And that is going to be $180 to have them both home because that's the fee for the papers .So right now will you rather be adopting one or you will adopt the two babies because the two of them will cost just 180$ including two crates is that ok so right now email me asap with the answers to the following questions so that i should see if you will rather take good care of this babies or not so email me with:

1) Are you a breeder?
2) Are you married?
3) Do you have kids?
4) Have you ever had a puppy before?
5) What is your occupation?
6) Will you send me pictures of the puppies when you have them?
7) Do you have a vet you will take the puppies to?
8) And will you treat these puppies as your children?
9) Give me a Brief Description about your Environment ?
10) Will you have Enough time to spend and Play with them?

Sorry for too many question, but i just want to be sure that my puppies will be going to the right home.so will be waiting to read back from your soonest mail. And below are the pictures of them is that ok by you?
waiting to read back from your soonest mail.
God Bless You

Anybody saying they are located in Cameroon is scamming you. You will never see your dogs or your money again. I recently read that a local lady fell for this scam and was bilked out of $600! And you know free Yorkies are never going to happen. I even wrote him back and said he could physically hand me the dogs and I will hand him the money. LOL! That will never happen!

Beware....they are out there!

HERE I GO AGAIN.....

I was looking yesterday on all the pet rescues to find a little Yorkie to adopt and I ran across this little girl. She looks like she has some Yorkie in her but I don't know what else she's mixed with. I think she is just adorable! I put a call in to the rescue already this morning and am just waiting to hear back from them. Her name will be Sophie Girl and she will be much loved. My poor husband....yet another dog. This will be our 5th rescue, two have passed on. Wish me luck and I will post again if I get her! Visit your local rescues today and see if you can find room in your heart for a furry baby!

PUPPY OF THE WEEK!

This is Frannie and she ia a 7 year old Bichon Frise. She is located in Suffolk, Virginia at the Tidewater Bichon Frise Rescue. Her owner surrendered her to a vet to be put down because she was costing him too much....hmmmm. She loves to cuddle and playing fetch. She should be an only dog because she is picky about who she likes and doesn't like with other dogs. She has started obedience lessons and is doing well! If you think Frannie would be a good addition to your family please stop by and visit her.
